Case Study: Spirit of Belron challenge Triathlon
Brief
The annual Spirit of Belron Challenge is a charity set up by Belron South Africa, otherwise known as Autoglass in the UK. It has been running since 2002 and has gradually increased its number of global competitors year on year.
The organisers want to create an experience for all of the competitors, spectators and children in attendance with a carnival feel to the full days programme. Children's fair rides, coconut shy, entertainers, smoothie bikes, beautiful food and of course delicious artisan coffee to be served from the moment the coaches arrive to when the final coach pulls away from the beautiful surroundings of Eton Dorney Rowing lake in Windsor.
Our Response
2019 was expected to be the biggest to date and was expecting 3500 competitors from around the globe.
We knew that time was precious and that no one wanted to be waiting in a queue while all of the action was taking place and having sufficient espresso machines and staff was important. The organisers worked hard at creating a sports village style atmosphere and we agreed we would create one long coffee bar by linking our gazebos together and placing five espresso machines, Ten coffee grinders, four hot water boilers, four filter coffee percolators, ten baristas, three front of house staff and two runners for water / stock refilling. Ensuring people aren't waiting in the cold is of vital importance, when planning any Outdoor Event.
We also had one of our coffee vans set up close by as a quirky addition to the offering and staffed with a further two baristas.
The day went amazingly with the weather holding off until the very end, we served 6453 hot beverages using Dark Arts Coffee 'The Lost Highway', Novus tea, Weanie Beans chilli hot chocolate and Van houten hot chocolate.
Testimonial
Having used Henry's for several years for a large corporate event I can say that their service and their coffee are both excellent. Highly recommended.
