4 coffee cocktails to try this weekend

Do you want to spice up your evening with a cocktail but it is no longer the summer? Why not try one of these tantalising coffee cocktails over the winter season?

Often, coffee cocktails are a combination of black coffee and a coffee liqueur such as Kahlua, or whiskey, with the addition of cream and sugar.

Kahlua Midnight Coffee Cocktail:

A perfect treat for those who are a fan of Irish coffee, this liqueur will be sure to add some personality to your traditional coffee. The involvement of both rum and black coffee in the Kahlua liqueur will enhance the strength of your coffee cocktail when it’s all combined.

Simply blend together whiskey, Kahlua liqueur and Irish cream at the base of a coffee glass, and fill it up with your fresh batch of coffee.

Kentucky Whipped Coffee:

If you are looking for an intense, creamy cocktail to serve your friends and family, this would be the one. A delightful blend of heavy cream, sugar, coffee and a splash of bourbon to hit you with a strong but sweet flavour.

Just mix together sugar and the splash of bourbon in a mug or coffee glass and top it up to the brim. Leave ample room for the addition of heavy cream to be poured over the back of a spoon for it to balance on the surface, giving the appearance of a snowy scene.

Classic Espresso Martini:

This classic recipe consists of three key ingredients: vodka, coffee liqueur and espresso. Shake up all three ingredients along with some ice in a cocktail shaker or bottle, then filter out the ice and pour into a glass. To decorate, the classic embellishment would be to top it with ground coffee beans.

To add a touch of sweetness, add a few drops of a caramel syrup made from sugar and water or buy a coffee syrup in a flavour you fancy.

Amaretto Coffee:

An option that could replace your typical dessert featuring amaretto liqueur, brewed black coffee and whipped cream. The simple recipe incorporates both the amaretto liqueur and black coffee, then is topped off with fluffy and light whipped cream.
The simple recipe combines fresh coffee with amaretto liqueur and is finished off with a scoop or squirt of fresh whipped cream. To enhance the aroma and nuttiness of the amaretto liqueur, a sprinkle of cinnamon to top your drink off will add to both the taste and decoration.
